This procedure is very much less painful by the use local anesthetic. It could take about an hour or so, depending on the number of areas being injected. There may be mild numbness and redness for a few hours post-treatment, with probable bruising and swelling for up to a week. pre-treatment care
A) Inform the doctor about any ongong treatment involving blood thinning agents, any history of bleeding disorders, active skin infection e.g.; Herpes, compromised immune system, impaired healing (e.g. keloid or scar formers), pregnancy/ lactation, pacemaker, allergies to local anesthetics or any other agents.
B) Avoid using any product containing Retinol, AHA, BHA or Benzoyl Peroxide for atleast 5 day sprior to the treatment session.
Post-treatment care
A) You can look forward to resuming your normal daily activities right after the procedure.
B) Stay off Retinol creams for 2 days after treatment, in case you’ve been using it.
C) Control swelling and discomfort if any, by applying a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
D) Avoid massaging the treated area, unless specifically guided on doing so.
E) Avoid any form of strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
F) Stay out of the sun, and avoid excessive heat for that matter, for 72 hours after treatment.
G) A low-salt diet will help avoid swelling. For the same reason, avoid alcohol as well.
